PACK 306 is camping out! We’re headed to the highly rated Cooperstown KOA Campsite on Saturday, August 25th (Google it; it’s a 4.5-star KOA site)! On our way back to Ramsey on Sunday, August 26th, we will stop for a tour of the super-amazing Howe Caverns.

Thank you, McGrath family, for doing the research and legwork for this event. Special thanks to the Armitage Family for heading up our Taste of Ramsey fundraiser, and the Behrmann and Butler familes for last year’s quota-busting popcorn orders. The money our scouts and volunteers earned from the water, movie ticket, and popcorn sales allows the PACK to pay for the campsite. We ask each person to pay only $13.25 plus processing fees to help cover the Howe Caverns excursion.

Sign up now! Or email Lisa McGrath at den3pack306@yahoo.com for more info.

This trip is for currently registered PACK 306 Families ONLY.

Please note:

  • If we do not have at least 15 families signed up by August 3rd, we will likely cancel the event. In that case we would refund your money.

  • If you are interested in this trip but are new to the PACK and have NOT completed a registration or paid your registration fees yet, please mail pack306@hotmail.com and request a “BSA form” to fast track your 2018-2019 registration.

  • In Step 2 of the signup, please note that you will NOT be receiving actual “tickets.”

  • Cooperstown KOA is roughly 3 hours from Ramsey. It has a pool and play area, which are free to use during our stay. You might choose to participate in other activities that the site would charge for, so bring some pocket money. For example, they have a small arcade, they offer bingo on Saturday night, etc.

  • Howe Caverns is approximately 45 minutes from the campsite, but it is on the route back to Ramsey and therefore somewhat convenient. Even in the summer months, it is very cold in the caverns, so bring sweatshirts and appropriate clothing. The tour is approximately 90 minutes and will include short moments of complete darkness, which might be scary for some smaller children.

  • This camping is at a tent site. You will need to bring your own tent and some basic camping gear.

  • IMPORTANT REMINDER: Out of concern for your child’s safety, and their own liability concerns, the BSA prohibits the use of alcohol, marijuana, and other controlled substances at scouting activities, including camping events. They also forbid firearms (concealed or unconcealed), fireworks, and explosives. Thankfully, Pack 306 has never experienced a problem with any of these issues. Let’s not start now. Please do not put us in the position of having to ask you to leave the event.

  • More details and information, including an Informed Consent, Release Agreement, and Authorization form, will be sent following your registration.
